... the national weather service in spokane has issued a flood warning
for the following rivers in idaho ... washington...
lake coeur d`alene at coeur d`alene affecting kootenai and benewah
counties
spokane river at spokane affecting spokane county
the combination of moderate to locally heavy rains over much of
north idaho combined with significant snow melt will lead to
minor flooding along the shores of lake coeur d`alene extending
down the spokane river. the flooding is expected to begin
on friday.
precautionary/preparedness actions...
never drive cars ... trucks or sport utility vehicles through flooded
areas. the water may be too deep toallow for safe passage. as little
as one foot of water on the road can move most vehicles off the road.

* at 10:30 am thursday the stage was 2131. 9 feet.
* flood stage is 2133. 00 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast ... rise above flood stage by friday evening and
continue to rise to near 2134 feet by late monday morning.
* at 2133 feet ... there will be minor flooding of homes and
businesses along the lakeshore. flooding of lowland areas
and secondary roads adjacent to state highway 3 is also likely.

* at 10:45 am thursday the stage was 26. 6 feet.
* flood stage is 27. 00 feet.
* minor flooding is forecast.
* forecast ... rise above flood stage around midday friday and
continue to rise to near 27. 7 feet by monday afternoon.
* at 27. 0 feet ... significant stretches of the centennial trail
between mission avenue and greene street will be innundated.
minor flooding is also expected in peaceful valley park and
in the yards of homes at the east end of water street. the
river could also back up through storm drains onto main street
near its intersection with elm streetin the peaceful valley.
minor flooding is also expected in low lying areas along the
river bank through spokane valley.
