Autumn meet opens at Hollywood Park

The Betfair Hollywood Park meet opens Thursday and runs through Dec. 16. The meeting includes four Grade 1 races, most notably the $750,000 CashCall Futurity on Dec. 15. The first Grade 1 races are the Matriarch Stakes and Hollywood Derby on Nov. 25. The Hollywood Starlet on Dec. 8 is the meeting's other Grade 1 race. My Wandy's Girl: no worries about track

With a nor'easter bearing down on the East Coast, there is a strong probability Thursday's $75,000 Pentelis overnight stakes at Aqueduct will be run in slop or mud. Such an eventuality would be nothing new for My Wandy's Girl and the other four fillies and mares entered in the race.

Keeneland sale: Pure Clan gets $4.5M

Keeneland's November sale on Wednesday saw two-time Grade 1 winner Pure Clan go for $4.5 million - the highest price after two days of selling. Yesterday's session sold 109 horses, down from 138 last year.
