TROPICAL STORM WINDS AFFECTING PARTS OF FLORIDA

Tropical storm developing into a moderate Hurricane located near 28.9N
78.5W with pressue at 995.4 millibars converted to elector inches
of mercury 29.389 and falling sea level pressure at dew line the
following are reports of winds of a storm that is expected to jog its
wat along the Gulf Steam staying close to 80 degree water temperature
- Wind Gusts are as follows in Miles Per Hour (MPH)
Vero Beach 53 MPH
Lake Worth 50 MPH
New Smyrna Beach 44 MPH
Melbourne 40 MPH
Mollasses Reef 39 MPH
Patrick AFB 38 MPH
Ormond Beach 37 MPH
Fowe Rocks 35 MPH
Projected Storm outflow of Tornadoes The Enhanced Fujita Scale (EF
Scale) rates the strength of tornadoes in the United States based on
the damage they cause. Below is that scale.
Winds disperse seeds from various plants, enabling the survival and
dispersal of those plant species, as well as flying insect
populations.
Short bursts of high speed wind are termed gusts. Strong winds of
intermediate duration (around one minute) are termed squalls .
Long-duration winds have various names associated with their average
strength, such as breeze , gale , storm , hurricane , and typhoon .
Wind occurs on a range of scales, from thunderstorm flows lasting tens
of minutes, to local breezes generated by heating of land surfaces and
lasting a few hours, to global winds resulting from the difference in
absorption of solar energy between the climate zones onEarth. The two
main causes of large-scale atmospheric circulation are the
differential heating between the equator and the poles, and the
rotation of the planet ( Coriolis effect ). Within the tropics,
thermal low circulations over terrainand high plateaus can drive
monsoon circulations. In coastal areas the sea breeze /land breeze
cycle can define local winds; in areas that have variable terrain,
mountain and valley breezes can dominate local winds.
Potential damage
EF0 65–85 MILES PER HOUR
Minor or no damage.
Peels surface off some roofs; some damage to gutters or siding;
branches broken off trees; shallow-rooted trees pushed over.
Confirmed tornadoes with no reported damage (i.e., those that remain
in open fields) are always rated EF0.
