WIDESPREAD TSUNAMI THREAT EXISTS BASED ONHISTORICAL EARTHQUAKE AND
TSUNAMI DATA.HOWEVER - EARTHQUAKES OF THIS SIZE SOMETIMES GENERATE
LOCALTSUNAMIS THAT CAN BE DESTRUCTIVE ALONG COASTS LOCATED WITHINA
HUNDRED KILOMETERS OF THE EARTHQUAKE EPICENTER. AUTHORITIESIN THE
REGION OF THE EPICENTER SHOULD BE AWARE OF THISPOSSIBILITY AND TAKE
APPROPRIATE ACTION.THIS WILL BE THE ONLY BULLETIN ISSUED FOR THIS
