Subject: Ferry Alert: Se/BI & Ed/KI Hood Canal Bridge Maintenance May 7

Vital Hood Canal Bridge maintenance will close the bridge to vehicular
traffic in approximate 3-hour intervals overnights beginning May 7,
2012. Work will occur Monday through Thursday evenings, closing the
bridge for travel from 8:45 p.m. to 3:45 a.m. with the exception of
two 15-minute openings to allow traffic to cross. The bridge will be
open for vehicle traffic nightly from 10:45 to 11 p.m. and from 1 to
1:15 a.m.
Engineers estimate completing the work in four to six nights.
The work, which requires opening the west draw span to repair divots
in the guide roller tracks, is weather dependent and will carry over
to the following week (May, 14, 21, etc.) until completed. For more
