synopsis ... a strong north pacific low will move into the southern
bering sea sunday night and into the gulf of alaska late monday. a
much weaker low will move over the far western bering sea monday
night and dissipate by wednesday.

168. 2e and continues down the coast of kamchatka.
the ice edge is mainly 2 to 7 tenthsnew ... young and first year thin
ice in strips. thicker ice and higher concentrations lie 10 to 20 nm
into the ice in most areas.

diminish saturday and turn southerlyon sunday. winds will diminish
after monday and become variable by wednesday. the ice edge will move
to the north 15 to 25 nm mainly through monday.
forecast through wednesday ... 167w to 180 ... southerly flow will
develop saturday morning and continue through sunday. strips of ice
along the edge will move 25 to 35 nm to the north by monday.
northerly flow will return late monday and diminish to variable by
wednesday. the ice edge will move south 5 to 15 nm tuesday and
wednesday. the net ice movement will be to the north 20 to 30 nm.
forecast through wednesday ... west of 180 ... strong northerly flow will
develop saturday and continue through sunday. flow will diminish
monday becoming variable late tuesday. the ice edge will move to the
south 5 to 15 nm.

cook inlet analysis confidence ... high.
this is the final cook inlet ice analysis for the 2011/12 ice season.
areas of open water remain in knik arm and at the end of turnagain
arm and will melt over the weekend.
