Subject: FREIGHT TRAVEL ADVISORY - Five-day lane closure on US 2 in Sultan will start April 8
![]()
Five-day lane closure on US 2 in Sultan will start April 8
LOCATION: US 2 at Rice Road
DETAILS: Our five day, round-the-clock lane closure of US 2 in Sultan will start Sunday, April 8. US 2 will be reduced to one lane beginning at 7 p.m. Sunday, April 8, and all lanes and the roundabout will open by 6 a.m. Friday, April 13. This work is highly weather dependent and will have to be rescheduled if the forecast shows heavy rain.
DETOUR: Weâre asking drivers to plan ahead if possible. If drivers canât adjust their schedules, take alternate routes or delay travel, as we could see two-mile backups and 90-minute delays in the afternoon and evening. Cross-state travelers should plan to use alternate routes like US 97 and I-90.
FOR MORE INFORMATION:
- You can check our US 2 Sultan Basin Road camera http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/traffic/monroe/default.aspx?cam=9052 , about a mile west of the construction zone, to monitor the eastbound backups.
- Weâll also post regular updates on our Whatâs Happening Now page http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/construction/pugetsound/today.htm to keep you updated on the latest traffic conditions.
- Use our online tools http://www.wsdot.wa.gov/Northwest/Snohomish/Construction/#US2 to stay in the loop.
