FREIGHT TRAVEL ALERT - Lane closures on I-82 near Plymouth

WSDOT Logo

LOCATION: I-82 near Plymouth.

DETAILS: Due to emergency repairs on another bridge and high winds today in the Plymouth vicinity, the west bound lane closure originally planned for today has been changed to an eastbound closure. Eastbound travelers on Interstate-82 over the Columbia River Bridges near Plymouth will experience single lane travel from milepost 130 to milepost 133. Eastbound loads over 10 feet wide are prohibited during work hours. Work is scheduled to occur between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday March 20 through Friday March 23, 2012.

The Under Bridge Inspection Team (UBIT) has closed the eastbound left lane for under bridge inspection. Eastbound loads over 10 feet wide are prohibited from milepost 130 to milepost 133. Once the eastbound left lane inspection is complete, crews will close the eastbound right lane for inspections on that side of the eastbound bridge. This inspection process could take up to two days to complete.

Once crews finish inspecting the eastbound bridge structure they will switch to the westbound bridge. Crews plan to close the westbound left lane first and once inspections on that side of the bridge are completed, the right lane westbound will be closed and the inspection process continued. There are no anticipated restrictions to the movement of oversize vehicles on the westbound bridge during the inspection process.
