.SNOW...INITIALLY MIXED WITH RAIN IN THE VALLEYS...WILL CONTINUE
TO OVERSPREAD THE REGION AS A STRONG SYSTEM MOVES IN THIS
AFTERNOON. PRECIPITATION WILL BECOME ALL SNOW ABOVE 1000 FEET BY
THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE...HEAVY AT TIMES...OVERNIGHT. MAJOR SNOW
ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH MODERATE
ACCUMULATIONS IN MANY OF THE VALLEYS. VERY COLD AIR WILL MOVE IN
TOMORROW WITH SNOW SHOWERS...POSSIBLY HEAVY AT TIMES...CONTINUING.
SIGNIFICANT ACCUMULATIONS ARE EXPECTED AGAIN TOMORROW...ESPECIALLY
IN THE MOUNTAINS.

* WINDS...SOUTH WINDS WILL INCREASE THIS AFTERNOON TO 20 TO 30 MPH
WITH GUSTS TO 50 MPH. WINDS INCREASE TO 30 TO 40 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO 60 MPH THIS EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...3 TO 6 INCHES IN THE LOWER ELEVATIONS OF
THE VALLEY WITH UP TO 8 INCHES ABOVE 3000 FEET.

* TIMING...WINDS WILL BEGIN THIS AFTERNOON WITH SNOW STARTING
THIS EVENING. CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE SIGNIFICANTLY
AFTER 10 TONIGHT THROUGH DAYBREAK WEDNESDAY.

* LOCATIONS INCLUDE: YREKA...WEED.

* IMPACTS...PERIODS OF BLOWING SNOW WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES
AND CREATE NEAR WHITEOUT CONDITIONS. TRAVEL WILL BECOME
TREACHEROUS.
