. discussion ... an upper level low pressure system will move into northern
california tonight which will increasethe onshore flow and deepen the
marine layer across southern california. by saturday morning ... the marine
layer is expected to deepen to around 1500 feet ... bringing low clouds
and fog locally into the valleys. thiswill translate into cooler temperatures
and higher humidities on saturday across the lower elevations ... with further
cooling for all areas on sunday.
saturday night through sunday morning ... there will be increasing northwest
to north winds ... with gusts between 35 and 45 mph across thefavored passes
and canyons of the santa ynez range ... as well as the interstate
5 corridor in the los angeles countymountains. this next surge of gusty
winds will also be accompanied bysome dry air at higher elevations ...with
the potential for some single digit humidities in the mountains. a cold
upper level low pressure system will bring cool and windy conditions to the
region on monday with a threat of showers and low snow levels.
